C'mon people! I WANT TO BUY LESS THINGS!

Alright. I got less than 30 minutes to write this post. On my previous 80 Cents post, I got myself to write an Apple Fanboy's worst nightmare, APPLE AS A MONOPOLY!

O.O

Don't worry guys, that's just my take on Apple's future. Yes, it was difficult for me to write that post. After all, I am part of the club. But let's look at this way. With the club growing in number and also, the number of reasons why they joined, it's quite hard to say that they're NOT going down the line of 'monopoly'. From laptops to MP3 Players to even a media streamer for TV, Apple has tackled many marketable areas. So it's not surprising to see them venturing to greater markets and greater heights.

But let's take a rest and look at the reasons people join the fan club. Nowadays, people (consumers to be exact) are not looking just at the price but also at the brand name. With the world in much political haywire, one may reconsider a 'Made In China' goods for something less famous of a name but locally made and sorta trustworthy.

Shall I give an example? Look at Nike. After some much flames of workers' abuse, it is really obvious that Nike's image has suffered. Well, so much for 'Just Do It'. YOU ARE ABUSING WORKERS!

The point is that consumers are now willing to pay extra for a better service, a better work material and a trustworthy brand name. So in this area, Apple scores! In addition to trustworthiness, Apple's move to the 'larger' market, in a sense that they are more open to ideas, gives an addition to their more-reasons stint. As trust comes into play, more consumers are turning to one company for their needs. I guess people are getting lazy and they don't want to scour for a bargain.

I'm feeling the same way too. I'd rather buy a Dell than do a DIY even though I KNOW THAT THE DIY WILL BE FAR MUCH BETTER. A little note about brand names, image is almost everything. When I carry my MacBook around, I'm stuffed with pride and much care to carry this 'piece of art'. A Dell basically says that you have a budget. A HP reminds me of fanciful ads. Yeah, I remember the one with Sindfeild... WHAT? And of course, Gateway, COWS.

So let me add on, Apple may be going to the Road Of Monopolistic Ideas but it also may go on with the everyone-loves-Apple attitude.

To top it off, let me remind you that we, consumers, will determine our 'friends' business. Also, think before you fling out your credit card! ;)

It's settled!

I got this off a blog in my net of friends. Pretty small net btw. Pretty cool.

Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this! Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

If you agree, pass it on.

If you can read this - Thank a teacher!

-_- Materials List of May

I need a new running shoe.
I need to replace my scratched specs.
I want to buy iPod Nano.
I want to buy a Nike+ Sports Kit.
I want to buy a pair of shades.
I want to buy a DS SuperCard of R4.
I want to buy a PS3.
I want to but an iMac.
I want to buy Time Capsule.
I want to buy a PSP Slim.
I want to buy a Krumpler bag.

Looking at this list, I'm not going near any HUGE savings. Most of all, I need a new running shoe. The first one had its soles flat. My second shoe, which had stepped on a pile of shit, is still in the wash. What luck dude! It was 2 days before the X-Country! Anyway, X-Country was disappointing for me. I wasn't just up to speed. The specs can wait. Though I don't think my parents would think the same way. I'm really into saving up for an iPod Nano and the Sports Kit. I think it'll be my final investment before I focus in my studies. I'll make myself a deal. If I get a Nano, I can't get a PSP nor an iMac. The PS3 is a separate deal made with my Dad regarding my 'O's. And yeah, I need a pair of shades to cover my eyes. I must deviate away from these games and all. So I don't really hope for a PSP. A PS3 is nice but c'mon guys, be professional will yeah? So maybe I can swap for an iMac in the 'O's-Dad deal.

Right now, I need to budget.

Apple, a monopoly?

The term monopoly (from Greek monos , alone or single + polein , to sell) can bear 2 meanings. This is the one to be highlighted.

"In Economics, monopoly (also "Pure monopoly") exists when a specific individual or enterprise has sufficient control over a particular product or service to determine significantly the terms on which other individuals shall have access to it. [1] Monopolies are thus characterized by a lack of economic competition for the good or service that they provide and a lack of viable substitute goods. [2] Alternatively (a modern and less common usage), it may be used as a verb or adjective to refer to the process (see Monopolism) by which a firm gains persistently greater market share than what is expected under perfect competition. The latter usage of the term is invoked in the theory of monopolistic competition."
I was reading up an article on Cnet. For you people out there, Cnet is the one-stop place for you to get reviews of most tech goodies. I always make an effort to pass by there to do some research or just to waste my afternoons, drooling about the PS3. Give it a try, I find their reviews really helpful!
As I was saying, I was reading an article about Apple making a game console! WHOA! That is something new! Apple is the leading tech-company, that's how I catogerize them, that speciallizes in our technology needs. From iMacs, to iPhones and to the TV, I won't be surprised that they will arter the gaming industry.
Why? Firstly, we know that Apple is trying to be a standard of its own. Beautifully crafted computers that seems to be a work of art than a daily neccessity. But maybe, this could be a marketting campaign. I mean, c'mon. Who will not stare at the uniqueness of its beauty? Just like the girl next door. DROOLING LIAO. And as the world gets flooded with this acid, other companies have stepped up to the artistic plate. Look at Sony, Dell and HP. Apple has disticntly launcehed themselves as a leader, a standard. So before you know it, an Apple will not be just a fruit but rather a standard like ISO. [Haha! It'll be hilarious!]
A leader in everything. Hmm? But also, they want to be the ALL IN ONE kinda-guy. Just like a perfect date or something. Apple has been pioneers of AIOs like the iMac and since the debut of the iPhone a.k.a iPod Touch, Video, phone, internet tablet and maybe we can give the GPS title too. Hey, Google Maps is still better than that self talking computer. Sigh. Mighty journalist of techies call them convergence devices. Just one thing to do ALL YOUR STUFF. How cool is that?
And of course, since money is on our mind, the gaming industry is sure a place to make big bucks. After GTA 4 gave Rockstar 500 million bucks in the first week, why not take the chance?
Well, I don't care. In the life of a techie, you will get buyer's regret. No matter what. That PS3 you bought last year cost you $800. But it justs cost $700 with 3 games and 2 controllers. [Can't wait for the PS3 man...] A tip for you, buy that thing for a reason. I plan to buy a PS3 to distract myself from the distractions.

MAKE ME DISSAPPEaR.

Ahem.

After succesfully dropping a bomb, the Left-Side forces led by the victorious Princess have engaged the enemy with a new terrorizing weapon; a SPY! Rumours has it that this 'spy' lingers deep in the Right-Side forces. They give no name but the papers have called them the Sons Of Stalin as they are being described as THE PRODIGY OF COMMUNISM. Princess forces, backed up by the Seven Nation Army, have unleashed hell in in the Right-Side where life has turned for its worst. Famine strikes in as the Sun beats down heavily. Satelite photos proved the turmoil caused in Right-Side. People cry out for human rights. How can they justify the killings?

The war is evident, on the Left-Side, Princess and SNA while on the Right-Side, a fellow.

The frontpage has been plastered by unprecedented works of the Right-Side. A poject where human rights play no role in humans. Is that why the Left-Side play God on them? The question remains, how will the Right react?

Striked by lightning, bombed from the air and a spy??? How will this last? Countless cameras flashed as the Right voiced over Left's outrageous acts. They give no opinion but a final sentence caught the world's ears. This is how I dissapear. HAHA.

Blimey Harry! That's one kind of story you got there!

Coming Back!

After much speculation, I now confirm the rumours: My MacBook is back! After a one-off deal with my Mom, my MacBook has been given back to me after the much feared 'seizure'. After 3 weeks of confinement, the white clamp shell breathed life once more. However, that will be short lived. According to the 'deal', the MacBook will return to its hibernation for another 2 weeks. And so, to make full use of my 'freedom', this post will be short. Don't worry my mighty warriors, this blog will be back! (In 2 weeks of course.)

On the same note, don't die out there guys! The exams will be drawing to a near close!

WE GOTTA TAKE THE POWER BACK

Accompanied by their heavy beats, Guns N’ Roses once again blew with ROCKET QUEEN. I think it’s just me but this song is really good to block out all my parents’ rants, shouts and even yells. That’s terrific. I can finally relax without buying a pair of noise-canceling headphones. Sometimes, maybe it’s best just to tell them that I’M BETTER OFF LEFT ALONE.

Can’t you all see the slightest indication of my emotionless mask I’m wearing? Or are you just so ignorant that I’m just nothing to you? A FREAK ACCIDENT I am? Oh whatever. Let me tune myself with Rage Against The Machine.

Erm, forget the lyrics. Just listen to their heaviness. ROCK ON!
